Braces

Pick your path to the perfect smile.

Metal Braces

The straightforward choice for straight, beautiful teeth.

Metal braces have been the classic way to get straighter teeth for decades, but that doesn’t make them old-fashioned! New technological advancements have made them less noticeable and more comfortable than ever. Not only are they the most affordable option, but due to their specialized alloy, metal braces are the strongest and most durable as well.

Clear Braces

Notice the results, not the treatment!

Clear braces are built to blend in. They’re made of tooth-colored materials like porcelain and ceramic that are tough (though not quite as durable as metal brackets) and act like camouflage against your smile. Clear braces are a great “best of both worlds” choice with the security and reliability of traditional braces and the aesthetics and secretness of something like Invisalign.

Damon Braces

There’s a new name in the braces game!

If you’re looking for the most comfortable and efficient treatment possible, Damon braces are here! Instead of using elastic bands like conventional braces, the Damon System employs a slide mechanism to hold the wire in place. These gentle forces protect the health of your teeth and gums while straightening teeth more efficiently, reducing the number of appointments and the length of treatment. In addition, the brackets are smaller, which helps make them less noticeable and more comfortable against your lips and cheeks. And best of all, the Damon System helps guide smiles in an upright and aligned arch shape — which studies have shown is considered to be more attractive!

Brace yourself —you need to be aware
of what you eat with braces!

While braces do the hard work of straightening your teeth, it’s up to you to make some adjustments to what you eat. Here are some foods our practice suggests you avoid, but wherever possible, we’ve included some Doc’s tips in parentheses that will allow you to still eat them.

  • Whole Apples (Doc’s tip: Cut it into wedges first!)
  • Bubble Gum
  • Sticky Hard Candy — things like caramel, taffy, nut brittle and chewy candies
  • Carrots Sticks (Doc’s tip: Cut them into thin curls.)
  • Corn on the cob (Doc’s Tip: You can still enjoy corn off the cob!)
  • Corn Chips/Hard Tacos
  • Hard Foods
  • Soda and other sugary drinks
  • Ice — no crunching!
  • Nuts
  • Pizza crust and crusty breads
  • Hard Pretzels
